Kathryn Mannie is an online journalist for Global News covering all things lifestyle and culture. Originally from Vancouver, she moved to Toronto five years ago where she got her start in journalism at U of T's student newspaper, The Varsity. She then went on to work at The Globe & Mail and The Green Line, a Toronto-based news media start-up. As a third-generation Chinese Canadian of mixed race descent, Kathryn is passionate about investigating, cherishing, and preserving the cultures of the Chinese diaspora. Outside of work you can find her exploring Chinatown, cooking with her loved ones, or playing chess.
