who we are
RepresentASIAN Project™ is the voice of the Asian North American diaspora, bridging community and culture through stories, conversations and change.
When we launched in 2019, our focus was clear: Asian representation in media. While visibility mattered then and still matters now, we recognize representation alone is not enough. While it does open the door to being seen, what happens next is about changing narratives, building solidarity and creating space for our communities to thrive.
As part of this evolution, we launched the Blossom Mental Health Fund in 2023 — a registered non-profit focused on supporting the mental health of Asian Canadians. Its mission is to destigmatize mental health within Asian diasporic communities by creating content and resources that reflect cultural nuances and by providing therapy grants to those facing financial barriers to care. Through its three pillars — normalizing Asian mental health through storytelling, removing barriers through therapy grants and providing culturally competent mental health resources — The Blossom Fund extends our commitment to representation beyond what we see in media, reminding our community that we’re not alone.
We believe in celebrating the full spectrum of the Asian North American experience: from confronting social issues like racism, identity and belonging, to enjoying the joys of fashion, food, beauty and pop culture. Our community deserves to be seen in all of its complexity — sincere and joyful, political and playful, rooted in tradition and shaping the future.
At our core, we are about connection. We foster pride, belonging, and solidarity not only within the Asian diaspora but also alongside other strategically undervalued communities. Because true representation isn’t just about being seen, it’s about being heard, valued and supported.
